Sculptra
Sculptra Aesthetic is an FDA-approved injectable that helps gradually replace lost collagen — an underlying cause of facial aging — for results that can last more than two years.*
What is Sculptra made of?
Sculptra Aesthetic is made with biocompatible, biodegradable, synthetic material called poly-L-lactic acid, which is gradually and naturally absorbed by the body and helps to rebuild lost collagen. Once injected, it begins working deep within the skin to help stimulate collagen production, reinforcing the skin’s inner structure and restoring its volume.
Will I need more than one treatment?
Over time, Sculptra Aesthetic helps the body reproduce lost collagen. On average, three injection appointments are needed over a period of a few months. The number of injection appointments and the number of injections per appointment vary from person to person, depending on how much collagen has been lost.
How long will results last?
Don’t be disappointed if you don’t see immediate results. A few days after treatment, you may find that you look the same as you did before treatment. This is normal and temporary. Visible results will appear within the first few treatments and lost collagen is replaced. Results appear gradually over the treatment regimen (typically three injections over the course of three to four months) and can last up to two years.*
Tips To Follow After Your Injection
- Massage the treated area for 5 minutes, 5 times per day for 5 days after your treatment.
- Have an ice pack ready. Within the first 24 hours of treatment, apply an ice pack or ice wrapped in a cloth to the treated area to reduce swelling. Avoid applying ice directly to the skin.
- You may apply makeup a few hours after treatment if no complications are present (for example, open wounds or bleeding).
- Avoid sunlight and UV exposure until swelling and redness have disappeared. Apply sunscreen to the face regularly after treatment.
