Microneedling with SkinPen®
The SkinPen Precision system is the only Class II, FDA cleared microneedling device legally marketing in the U.S.
What is microneedling?
Collagen induction therapy, also known as microneedling, is a great way to address the signs of aging at a cellular level. The SkinPen microneedling device causes controlled micro-injuries that stimulate the body’s natural wound healing process. The micro-injuries trigger the release of cytokines and growth factors that lead to remodeling of collagen and elastin. The procedure allows the new collagen to be regenerated without the formation of scar tissue. The procedure typically only takes 30 minutes depending on the size of the area treated.
What can I expect during the procedure?
A numbing gel will be applied to the area to be treated. Once the area is numb, a wand inserts tiny needles into the skin. As the wand glides over the skin, microscopic puncture wounds are comfortably created in the dermis. You can expect a comfortable experience, a short procedure time, a customized plan for optimal results, little to no downtime, and long lasting results.
Is there downtime?
There is little to no downtime with the Skin Pen microneedling procedure. There is a possibility of redness, swelling, tenderness, and sunburn-like pain. These side effects should resolve in a short period of time.
Who is a candidate for microneedling?
Anyone who has the following concerns would benefit from microneedling:
- Hyperpigmentation
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Sagging skin
- Acne scars
- Large pores
- Textured skin
- Stretch marks
