Debra Tanner Abell, MD

A board-certified dermatologist, Dr. Abell has been practicing dermatology in her Pittsburgh, PA office for over 20 years. She is also licensed to practice in New York, where she provides teledermatology services through DermatologistOnCall.

Originally from Los Angeles, Dr. Abell received her undergraduate degree from Harvard University and graduated from medical school at the University of California San Francisco. She completed her fellowship in Dermatology at The Johns Hopkins Medical Center.

An actively engaged member of both the Pittsburgh and New York City film and art communities, Dr. Abell is a founding board member of the non-profit organization Arts Crossing. She is the president and CEO of Tanner Film and Art, a company that provides financing of emerging artists in film, theater, and the visual arts.

She has a strong interest in genealogy. She serves on the board of trustees of The New York Genealogical and Biographical Society and is also on the national advisory board of The Hutchins Center at Harvard University.

Amy Betschart, PA-C

Amy has been a physician’s assistant specializing in dermatology for more than 8 years. She received her BS in Chemistry/ Biochemistry from John Carroll University and her Physician Assistant degree from Chatham University in Pittsburgh. Amy treats anything from acne to rashes and regularly performs full body skin cancer exams on her patients. In addition to practicing medical dermatology, she also enjoys the cosmetic aspect of the practice. The cosmetic treatments that she performs are Botox injections, facial fillers, chemical peels for anti-aging and acne, Vbeam pulsed dye laser for spider veins, rosacea, and scars, PDT photodynamic treatment for skin cancer and sun damage, blue light for acne, microneedling for anti-aging, and PRP hair loss treatments. Her free time is devoted to her husband and her 2 very active preschoolers  at home.
