Debra Tanner Abell, MD

A board-certified dermatologist, Dr. Abell has been practicing dermatology in the Pittsburgh area for over 20 years.

Originally from Los Angeles, Dr. Abell received her undergraduate degree from Harvard University and graduated from medical school at the University of California San Francisco. She completed her fellowship in Dermatology at The Johns Hopkins University.

An actively engaged member of the Pittsburgh area community, Dr. Abell is on the board of the Pittsburgh Dance Council and a founding member of The Point Chamber Orchestra. She has been an active member of the Schools and Scholarships Committee of the Harvard Club of Western Pennsylvania. She is also on the national advisory board of the W.E.B. Du Bois Institute at Harvard University and the board of trustees of The New York Genealogical and Biographical Society.

Carolyn Kauffman, PA–C

Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physicians Assistants, Carolyn Kauffman is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants.

Ms. Kauffman is originally from New Castle, PA. She received her undergraduate degree from Slippery Rock University and graduated from the Master of Physician Assistant Studies Program at Chatham University of Pittsburgh. She worked as a physician assistant in York, PA for four years prior to joining Dr. Abell in 2008.  She enjoys working with patients to treat a variety of skin conditions from acne to skin cancer.

Ms. Kauffman also provides cosmetic services with a focus on Botox Cosmetic, Juvederm, and VBeam Pulsed Dye Laser treatments.

Amy Betschart, PA-C

Certified by the National Comission on Certification of Physician Assistants, Amy Betschart is the newest provider. Amy is originally from Upper St. Clair, PA. She received her B.S. in Chemistry from John Carroll University in 2009 and Master of Physician Assistant Studies from Chatham University in 2011. Amy is interested in a variety of skin conditions from acne to rashes to skin cancer. She also enjoys the cosmetic aspect of dermatology, particularly chemical peels, microdermabrasions, and VBeam Pulsed Dye Laser treatments.
